Camera-ready for the day that matters

Treatment timelines for brides, wedding parties, family photography, anniversaries and special events in West Maui — planned backward from your date.

Weddings and family photography are why many of our guests come in. The single most important thing is timing: results should be fully settled and skin fully calm on the day, which means working backward from your date rather than booking whatever is available.

We plan for the whole party — brides and grooms, mothers and grandmothers, bridesmaids, and families gathering for photos. Group appointments can often be arranged around a rehearsal or a welcome dinner.

Plan your timing

3+ months before

Best time to begin: microneedling series, medical-grade skincare, and a first neuromodulator treatment so dosing can be refined.

2–4 weeks before

Last window for neuromodulators such as Dysport, so results are fully settled and natural on the day.

3–7 days before

HydraFacial for peak glow, plus IV nutrient therapy for travel and event fatigue. Spray tan 1–2 days out.

Facials do the quiet work of wedding prep: even tone, smooth texture, and a real glow that reads beautifully in photographs. Nothing new or aggressive inside two weeks of the date — HydraFacial three to seven days before is the sweet spot.

Wedding parties can be scheduled back-to-back; HydraFacial is the easiest group treatment because there is no downtime. Send us your date and party size and we'll build the timeline.

What matters most

Built around how you are actually here.

Brides and grooms

A skin plan starting several months out, then a final glow treatment in the days before. Nothing new or aggressive close to the date.

Wedding parties

Bridesmaids, mothers, and groomsmen — HydraFacial and IV nutrient therapy are the easiest group treatments, with no downtime.

Family photography

Multi-generational photo sessions: a HydraFacial 3–7 days out leaves skin bright and even under Maui light.

Anniversaries and special events

Vow renewals, birthdays and reunions get the same approach — we plan to the date, not to the appointment book.

Questions

Good to know.

More in our FAQs, medical glossary, preparation guide and aftercare guide.

How far in advance of my wedding should I book?+

HydraFacial is ideal 3–7 days before. Neuromodulators such as Dysport should be at least two weeks out so results are fully settled. Microneedling needs a minimum of two weeks, and a series is best started three or more months ahead.

Can you treat my whole wedding party?+

Often, yes. HydraFacial and IV nutrient therapy work well for groups. Call or text us with your dates and party size and we will build a schedule.

What should I avoid right before the wedding?+

Anything new, aggressive, or unfamiliar. We do not recommend first-time injectables or resurfacing inside two weeks of an event.

What is best right before family photos?+

A HydraFacial 3–7 days out for even, luminous skin, and IV nutrient therapy if travel or long days have caught up with you.

People also ask

The questions we hear most.

Answered in full, with the treatment, definition or guide behind each answer one click away.

Can I get a HydraFacial during my vacation?

Yes. A HydraFacial is one of the best treatments to have while you are on Maui because it has no downtime — you can go from your appointment to the beach, the pool or a dinner reservation the same day.

Skin looks brighter and more even immediately, which is why guests book it before a sunset dinner, a wedding, or a family photo session. Plan on 60 to 90 minutes depending on the level you choose, and wear a broad-spectrum mineral SPF 30 or higher afterward, since freshly exfoliated skin is more sun-sensitive.

Which treatments have no downtime?

HydraFacial, IV nutrient therapy, wellness injections, spray tan and medical-grade skincare all have no downtime. Dysport has essentially none either — a few tiny marks that settle within an hour — as long as you stay upright and skip strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.

Microneedling is the exception. Expect skin to look pink, like a mild sunburn, for one to three days, with sun and ocean water off the table during that window.

How far in advance should I book my appointment?

A week or two ahead is ideal, and longer over holidays. We are a boutique practice with a single injector, so vacation weeks fill early and the best times go first.

If your trip is sooner than that, call or text (808) 515-9342 — we hold room for same-week requests where we can, especially for IV nutrient therapy and wellness injections.

Which treatments are best before a wedding?

A HydraFacial three to seven days before the wedding is the single best pre-event treatment, with IV nutrient therapy the day before for travel and late-night fatigue, and a spray tan one to two days out if you want warmth without sun.

Anything that builds — a microneedling series, medical-grade skincare, neuromodulators — belongs three or more months ahead, so dosing can be refined and results are fully settled by the day.

How far in advance should I schedule Dysport before an event?

Two to four weeks before the event. Dysport starts working in two to three days and reaches its full effect in about a week, and that extra margin leaves time for a follow-up adjustment if anything needs refining.

If you have never had a neuromodulator before, schedule your first treatment three months out instead. First treatments are about finding your dose, and no one should be learning that in the week of a wedding.

What should I avoid immediately before an event?

Avoid anything new, aggressive or unfamiliar in the final two weeks. That means no first-time injectables, no resurfacing or microneedling, no strong new actives such as retinoids or acids, and no waxing on the same day as a facial.

In the last 24 to 48 hours, skip alcohol and high-sodium meals so you are not puffy in photographs, keep sun exposure moderate, and stay hydrated. Familiar treatments you have had before — a HydraFacial, an IV — are the safe choices this close in.

What is best right before family photos?

A HydraFacial one to three days before the session, so skin is calm, even and luminous under Maui light rather than freshly stimulated.

A spray tan the day before adds warmth without sun damage, and IV nutrient therapy helps if travel or long days have caught up with the group. All three are no-downtime and work well as back-to-back appointments for several people.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your first visit is a consultation before it is a treatment. We review your health history, medications and past treatments, look at your skin in natural light, talk through what is bothering you, and agree on a plan and a starting price before anything is booked.

If a treatment is appropriate the same day, we can often do it in that visit. If it is not — because of timing, medication, pregnancy or simply because something else would serve you better — we will say so. Allow a little extra time for paperwork and photos at a first appointment.

How do I know which service is right for me?

You do not have to know — that is what the consultation is for. Tell us what bothers you and what you have planned, and Stefanie will recommend the treatment that addresses it, including recommending less than you expected when that is the honest answer.

As a rough guide: HydraFacial and medical-grade skincare are for skin quality, glow and congestion; Dysport is for expression lines; microneedling is for texture, scarring and firmness; IV therapy and wellness injections are for energy, hydration and recovery.

Will I still look like myself?

Yes. Every plan here is built to keep you recognizable — conservative dosing, gradual change, and a review before we add anything. People should notice you, not your treatments.

With neuromodulators specifically, we treat lightly at a first visit and refine at a two-week follow-up rather than starting high. That is slower, and it is the reason our results read as rested rather than done.

Who performs treatments at Nō Ka ʻOi Aesthetics?

All injectable and medical treatments are performed by Stefanie Roberts, ARNP, founder and medical director of Nō Ka ʻOi Aesthetics. HydraFacial and skin treatments are performed by our licensed aestheticians, Stephanie Evans and Keala Lono, under the same medical oversight.

This is a medical practice in a boutique setting, not a resort spa menu — one clinician plans your care, and the same team sees you at follow-up.
