Preparing for your appointment
A little preparation makes every treatment more comfortable and more effective — and, if you are visiting Maui, it makes the timing work.
This page is educational. Your own instructions are reviewed with you in person and always take precedence. Recovery guidance lives in our aftercare guide, and unfamiliar words are defined in the medical glossary.
The basics.
- Arrive with clean skin where possible — we can remove makeup for you if needed.
- Bring a list of medications, supplements, and any recent treatments or procedures.
- Tell us about pregnancy, breastfeeding, or any change in medical history.
- Plan for a little extra time at your first visit: consultation, photos, and paperwork.
- Avoid alcohol the night before injectables to reduce bruising.
- Eat and hydrate beforehand, especially for IV nutrient therapy and injections.
- If you are visiting Maui, tell us your travel dates so we can plan timing around your trip.
Facial Treatments
On a Maui vacationExcellent during vacation. No downtime — perfect before dinner, a wedding, or family photos.
Treatment page- Pause retinoids, strong acids, and at-home exfoliants for 3–5 days.
- Reschedule if you have an active cold sore, sunburn, or open irritation.
- Arrive with clean skin if convenient — we'll cleanse thoroughly either way.
- Bring your current products or a list so we can align home care.
- Let us know about any recent injectables so we can time treatments well.

- Come with a clean face and no heavy makeup if possible.
- Share your full medical history, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, and neuromuscular conditions.
- Plan treatment at least two weeks before a major event.
Microneedling
On a Maui vacationGenerally better after returning home — skin needs several days out of direct sun and ocean water.
Treatment page- Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids for 5–7 days.
- Arrive without makeup for numbing.
- Avoid sun exposure and reschedule if you're sunburned.
- Plan around events — allow at least two weeks of healing.
- Tell us about any history of cold sores so we can pre-treat.

IV Therapy

Before your first visit.
What a first appointment involves, how to choose a treatment, and what to avoid in the days before an event.
- Should I schedule before I arrive or after I return home?
Book same-day treatments here and save recovery treatments for home. HydraFacial, IV nutrient therapy, wellness injections and spray tan are ideal during your stay; microneedling and medical weight loss are usually better started at home, where you can stay out of sun and ocean water or keep regular follow-up.
Dysport sits in the middle. It needs about two weeks to fully settle, so treat it before you travel if you have a Maui event, or early in a longer stay.
- What should I avoid immediately before an event?
Avoid anything new, aggressive or unfamiliar in the final two weeks. That means no first-time injectables, no resurfacing or microneedling, no strong new actives such as retinoids or acids, and no waxing on the same day as a facial.
In the last 24 to 48 hours, skip alcohol and high-sodium meals so you are not puffy in photographs, keep sun exposure moderate, and stay hydrated. Familiar treatments you have had before — a HydraFacial, an IV — are the safe choices this close in.
- What happens during my first appointment?
Your first visit is a consultation before it is a treatment. We review your health history, medications and past treatments, look at your skin in natural light, talk through what is bothering you, and agree on a plan and a starting price before anything is booked.
If a treatment is appropriate the same day, we can often do it in that visit. If it is not — because of timing, medication, pregnancy or simply because something else would serve you better — we will say so. Allow a little extra time for paperwork and photos at a first appointment.
